In the Streets of Berlin

In the Streets of Berlin

(Tekst: Ellen Marie Løkslid)

In the streets of Berlin we walked
Felt like time stopped forever
I was yours to hold, you were mine all completely
And as the candles burned down in restaurants
We captured the evenings so sweetly
I was in love
And I felt you were in it with me

You took me to your corner café
Kissed me while the coffee cops were clinking
Heavenly moments, on and on, painting stories about you and me
Just outside the nearby bakery
You told me how grateful you were to have met me
I was in love
And I felt you were in it with me
I was in love
And I felt you were in it with me

How was I to fall in love again?
You and me now, being just friends
It isn’t quite how a happy love story ends

The last time I saw Leon
We were in love
And it was November and late fall
Joy flowing like a river
I can still recall
These memories of days in Berlin
Still awake a thrill, deep within
I was in love
And I felt you were in it with me
I was in love
And I felt you were in it with me
